I will introduce a case where cyanide poisoning occurred during research activities.
During the post-processing stage of producing the adsorbent, sodium hypochlorite was added to the water after removing bromine cyanide for treatment purposes, which resulted in the generation of hydrogen cyanide due to a chemical reaction.
Since no exposure prevention measures were taken, the worker was exposed to hydrogen cyanide.
About 30 minutes after finishing the work, the worker felt nauseous and went to the hospital, where they were diagnosed with cyanide poisoning and admitted.

■ In addition to risk reduction measures, it is recommended to work while ensuring safety with a gas detection alarm.
